The 2011 Veteran’s Day Meal Discounts

As they did last year, several national restaurant chains will offer food specials over the next couple of days to honor U.S. military veterans for their service.

U.S. Flag and the MIA-POW flagApplebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar is inviting veterans and active-duty members of the military in on Veterans Day for a free entree among seven menu favorites at all of the chain’s locations.

At all Outback Steakhouse restaurants, from November 7-11, veterans will receive a free Bloomin’ Onion appetizer and a non-alcoholic beverage of choice.

Golden Corral is hosting a Military Appreciation Day on Nov. 14. The event will take place from 5 PM to 9 PM at all nationwide locations . Anyone who has served in the U.S. military, National Guard or Reserves will get a free buffet dinner.

Chili’s is offering a free entree among six menu items at all of the chain’s locations. (Note that ribs and steaks are NOT part of the free selection.)

Many, but not all, Subways will be offering free six-inch sandwich to active duty and veterans. Check with your local sandwich shop to see if they are participating.

Finally, Famous Dave’s Barbeque Restaurants is offering a sliding scale of offers. The promotions range from $15 off to FREE Meals to 10% off entire checks.

You can see other meal offers here. Remember, that in most cases, beverages are not part of the promotional meal and in no case is gratuity included. So don’t forget to tip your server/waiter based on the normal everyday price of the meal.
