That Creepy Burger King Mascot

Back in May, I noted that a group called Corporate Accountability International wanted McDonald’s Corporation to retire Ronald McDonald as the company spokesman.  McDonald’s said no and I applaud them for not caving in to the pressure.

The mascot simply called “The King” was, at best, a poorly conceived and designed, creepy character. The King didn’t speak and that was part of the problem. He would show up literally in ambush mode to silently confront his victims. He’d be there when his intended victim awoke or he’d jump out of a corner and surprise them.  I don’t know about you, but a stalker is not likely to get me to buy anything from them. Apparently, the Burger King Corporation concluded the same thing.

Nope, I won’t be sorry to see The King go. In fact, I’ll sleep easier tonight knowing he’s gone.
