Taco Bell Fights Back With Food

In January, I commented here about Taco Bell being sued because an Alabama law firm alleged that the meat used by the company is  actually “taco meat filling.” Therefore, according to the suit, Taco Bell should stop calling its taco meat beef because it isn’t. Taco Bell disputes the claim. I also suggested that as a result of this adverse publicity Taco Bell would give away free tacos in order to rebuild “good will” similar to what Dominos did several years earlier when they ran into bad publicity.

Well, I was wrong. They are not giving away free tacos. Instead, they are selling their “Crunchwrap Supreme” for  88¢ (limit of 2) until March 5th. If you like Taco Bell, this is a super deal and if you don’t care for Taco Bell’s food, you still have to appreciate the way the company is doing everything they can to keep their brand from being further degraded while they battle their legal problem. You can find more on the food offer and Taco Bell publicity campaign here.
