Dwayne McDuffie, writer of the DC Comic, Justice League of America, posted on his site that he was fired from the comic series because, according to him, he revealed too much about the behind the scenes creative discussions.
McDuffie created Static of Static Shock fame and is the story editor of Ben 10: Alien Force and was a producer for Justice League Unlimited (JLU).
I wish I could say I am not surprised that he lost his job, but I really am. Several years ago, I was an active participant at his forum. To be honest, he made anyone who asked him a question regret that they did. His answers were sometimes curt and patronizing, but they were mostly frustrating because he tried to be cute in his answers and not reveal anything substantial. These non-revelations were the reason I stopped frequenting his site. So, to be fired for revealing too much, to me, is a wall rattler.
But a part (a very, very small part) smiles with this news. McDuffie did not provide real closure to the big love story in JLU and when called on it, said the answer was already provided in a previous story which involved time travel and alternate realities. It wasn’t, but he couldn’t acknowledge that his work wasn’t perfect. *deep sigh* As the Joker would say, “if you have to explain the joke, it’s not funny.” If your audience doesn’t get the story, maybe you didn’t tell it well enough.
Anyway, McDuffie is gone from JLA and I for one will miss him. The story is here on his site.

The Secret Saturdays just keeps getting better. As I said earlier this year, the Saturday family didn’t realize how badly they have been outplayed by their arch-villain, Argost. And what’s great is they still don’t know how badly or how far behind they are.
This is not a spoiler, but turns out the Saturdays had all the keys they needed to solve the riddle of this first season all along, but didn’t know it. I enjoy this show a lot. Seventeen episodes down, five more to go. Can’t wait.
