Today, the Emmy award-winning animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars arrives on the Netflix streaming service.
Set between Episodes II and III of the Star Wars movie franchise, this series follows young Anakin Skywalker and the Jedi order prior to him turning to the Dark Side and becoming Darth Vader. The episodes on Netflix will include the director’s cut of all of the episodes that aired on Cartoon Network during the show’s run, plus the feature film and the unaired final season.
Clone Wars marks the first time Star Wars content has been available on Netflix. But starting next year, and over the next two years, Netflix will be the exclusive home for first-run, live-action and animated titles from Disney, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, Disneynature, and Lucasfilm.
The arrival of Clone Wars on Netflix should help temporarily satisfy some Star War fans as they wait for J. J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII.
