Netflix’s The Seven Deadly Sins is Worth Watching

Hiding in your Netflix queue is a 24-part anime saga called The Seven Deadly Sins. And I’m here to tell you that The Seven Deadly Sins is worth investing in, particularly since the second season starts on February 17, 2017.

The story follows Princess Elizabeth of the kingdom of  Liones, whose trying to find seven The Seven Deadly Sinsformer knights of Britannia. These knights were deadly criminals who serve the kingdom and developed the reputation of displaying no mercy toward their enemies. Legend has it, however; that they turned rogue and tried to overthrow the kingdom, killing many of the kingdom’s holy knights and warriors 10 years before the start of  the anime.

Elizabeth needs to find the Seven Deadly Sins because the remaining knights of the kingdom have formed a coup and are holding the royal family hostage. The Sins are her only hope to save her kingdom. When she finds out that the Seven Deadly Sins were framed and did not commit the atrocities they’re accused of, she knows she has the right people to help her keep her kingdom.

This anime has magic, comedy, drama, juvenile sexual situations and tells a great story. But let me be honest – this show is far from perfect. In somewhat typical anime fashion, the women are drawn as scantily clad and as busty as gravity will allow and that might offend some. Frankly, I found Elizabeth’s voice grating and irritating as all get out. That said, if you can get past that, be warned that the first three episodes are a little talky, but that’s because it’s world building. After episode three, the ride is a little better.

The Seven Deadly Sins is on Netflix and season two starts February 17, 2017. It’s a series worth a look.
