Today the 2008 baseball season ended for the San Diego Padres Baseball Team. I am pleased to report that this team did not lose 100 games as many had predicted they would. Of the 162 games they played, they lost 99 becoming the worst San Diego baseball team of all time.
The title of this post comes from the AC/DC tune with the same name. It is also the tune that they play at Petco Park when Trevor Hoffman, the closer for the San Diego Padres enters the game. There was a time when that tune was played in the ball park and it meant a guaranteed win for the Padres. Not this year.
When they fire the manager, Bud Black, in the next couple of days (and they should), I hope they will look at Willie Randolph as his replacement. The man can motivate people and the Met’s loss today proved the Met’s collapse of 2007 wasn’t entirely his fault.
Yes, it’s Go Padres!
Go get a good manager.
Go get some major league players for this minor league team.
Go watch the World Series on TV like the rest of us.
Go sit down and wait until next year. 🙁
