Wikipedia defines the term “flash mob” as a “large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual act for a brief time, then disperse. The term flash mob is generally applied only to gatherings organized via telecommunications, social media, or viral emails. The term is generally not applied to events organized by public relations firms, protests, and publicity stunts.”
A co-worker of mine sent me this YouTube link entitled, “Christmas Food Court Flash Mob, Hallelujah Chorus.” This was obviously well rehearsed and very well done and was a delight for me to watch. As I watched, I was struck by the amount of courage it takes to be the first one to initiate the action that signals everyone else to start. I’m not sure I could do it, but I’m glad that someone did for this video.
That was really a lovely video and song. Thanks for sharing!
I confess that I’ve watched it often.
