Carrying on with my tradition of closing out my end of year post with music, this year will feature Roberta Flack in concert with the Edmonton Symphony in 1975.
For the most part, 2018 was a significant improvement from 2017 for me. Because of that, I’ve chosen to close out 2018 by returning to my musical “comfort home” – soft jazz. No one exemplifies that genre better to me than Roberta Flack. She is unflappable and that’s what I hope to be in 2019.
Roberta Flack’s 1975 concert is fun, bright and upbeat – exactly what I want 2019 to be. It’s a perfect concert capturing Ms. Flack at her peak and my goals for next year.
My personal goal for 2019 will be the same as last year’s: to pay more attention to the music of my life and less attention to the noise of the world and I continue to hope that there will be significantly less noise in the coming year.
