Ann Coulter Blames Delta Airlines for America’s Healthcare Woes

While very little in the last six months surprises me anymore, the leap in logic conservative political commentator Ann Coulter made on  July 19, 2017 does.

On that date Ms. Coulter published an article entitled, “How Delta Airlines Wrecked American Healthcare Care.” (Note: I won’t link to her article, but Google the title and you’ll find it. You’ll also see why I won’t link to it.) Yup, she’s blaming Delta Airlines for Congress’ inability to pass health care legislation.

You see, earlier in the week Ms. Coulter flew from New York to Palm Beach, Florida. For the flight, she booked a exit-row window seat, 15F, before switching it to 15D (an aisle seat). Keep in mind, she is the one who switched her seating from a window to an aisle 24 hours before departure. During boarding, she was moved to 15A, a window seat in the same row on the other side of the plane.

Apparently, this was enough to unhinge Ms. Coulter because she took pictures of the poor woman who the airline put in what she considered to be her seat (15D) and posted them on Twitter calling the woman “dachshund-legged.” Then in a series of 35 Tweets claimed that it cost her $10,000 of her time to select the seat (and plane) she wanted. Delta refunded the $30 Ms. Coulter paid extra for an exit-row seat, but chastised her for berating its passengers and staff. This sent Ms. Coulter’s followers high and to the right in calling for Delta to be summarily destroyed.

All this background is necessary to understand the rationale for Ms. Coulter’s revenge hit piece on Delta Airlines on July 19th. She simply wanted to get the last word in an argument and she succeeded…for the moment by using pretzel logic.

That said, I do have a question. If her time was/is so valuable ($10,000), why didn’t she fly first-class instead of coach? I think if she had, we all could have been spared her unnecessary and embarrassing diatribe. After all, she has made a living out of chastising those who, in her own words, have a victim mentality. Based on her own teachings, why should anyone feel sorry for her?
