From the talented team of Zack Snyder and Bruce Timm comes a superb piece of animation that captures 75 years of Superman. In this two-minute animation, we see the original creation of Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster (Superman from Action Comics #1) evolve into Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. We see tributes to the Fleisher Studios, the Smallville television series, Christopher Reeve, George Reeves, Henry Cavil and Bruce Timm’s own work on Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League.
While I enjoyed seeing a quick clip of the 1978 Superman Atari video game, I was disappointed that Snyder and Timm did not include Dean Cain’s mid-90’s Superman from Lois and Clark. So to correct this perceived wrong, I have included Dean Cain as Clark Kent/ Superman deciding on his costume from Season 1, Episode 1 of Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman because to me this was a major snub.
Other than the glaring mistake of not including Cain, this Snyder/ Timm collaboration is fantastic and is a fitting tribute to an American icon.
