For 230 years, the U. S. Marines have answered the call whenever this nation had a wrong it needed made right. “First to fight” is not just an expression for these warriors, it is a battle plan (and a life plan) that translates into “Adapt and overcome.”
On this day, everywhere in the world, wherever there are two or more Marines, the oldest and the youngest will share a slice of birthday cake. This sharing of food, this breaking of bread, represents the passing of history and tradition from one generation to the next.
Marines are what they have always been in the past, and what they always will be in the future.
Always faithful to God, Country and Corps.
Semper Fidelis.
