Just as they did last year, several national restaurant chains will offer food specials over the next couple of days to honor U.S. military veterans for their service.
Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar is inviting veterans and active-duty members of the military in on Veterans Day (Tuesday, November 11th) for a free Applebee’s Signature Entrée among seven menu favorites at all of the chain’s locations.
Claim Jumper will be offering veterans a free meal on Monday, November 10 (note the date). Veterans must show ID and the offer is valid for dine-in only.
Golden Corral is hosting a Military Appreciation Day on Monday, November 17. The event will take place from 5 PM to 9 PM at all nationwide locations. Anyone who has served in the U.S. military, National Guard or Reserves will get a free buffet dinner and beverage.
Red Lobster is providing active duty military, reserve, and military veterans a free appetizer Monday, November 10 through Thursday, November 13, 2014.
Chili’s is offering veterans a choice of one of 7 meals during the dinner hour, or any lunch combo. The offer is available only at participating Chili’s in the U.S on Tuesday, November 11 2014.
Outback Steakhouse is offering a free Bloomin’ Onion and beverage to active duty and retired military personnel with proof of service. Outback will also be giving out a military discount of 15% off the total check between November 12 and December 31, 2014 to veterans with proper identification.
California Pizza Kitchen is offering a Free Veterans Day meal for veterans and active military personnel on Tuesday, November 11. Includes pizza and non-alcoholic drink. Just show up in uniform or bring a valid military ID.
Many, but not all, Subways will be offering free six-inch sandwich to active duty and veterans. Check with your local sandwich shop to see if they are participating.
Finally, Famous Dave’s Barbeque Restaurants is offering a free One Meat Salute. Veterans can choose one meat, a corn muffin, and a side. Proof of service is required.
More deals can be found here, but don’t be afraid to ask a restaurant if they are offering any Veterans Day discounts or specials. Remember, that in most cases, beverages are not part of any promotional meals and in no case is gratuity included. So don’t forget to tip your server/waiter based on the normal everyday price of the meal.
